February 2019 Spotlight Client

January 31, 2019 in News

We are proud to say that we have simply amazing people in our family of clients. Each month we take time out to shine a spotlight on our clients’ accomplishments, passions and experiences.

Please meet Jennifer Anne McGill. Jennifer was born in Plano, TX (outside of Dallas). Although she has lived in Florida and Washington, DC the majority of her life, Jennifer remains a Texas girl at heart. Specifically, she enjoys lots of football (Go Cowboys!) accompanied by great BBQ or chili (or perhaps some Tex-Mex)! Jennifer began swimming at the age of 5, swimming competitively through college. Jennifer was a 4-year member of the Dr. Phillips High School Varsity Swim & Dive team and swam Division I at the American University. Now, Jennifer enjoys finding new and diverse ways to keep fit, which includes a mixture of barre classes, yoga, High Intensity Interval Training and long walks with her fur-baby Bella.

Jennifer has always had a passion for culture and languages, graduating from the Center for International Studies magnet program at Dr. Phillips High School. Over the course of her studies, Jennifer studied the Japanese, Spanish and Portuguese languages. Following her passion for international studies, Jennifer then attended and graduated from the Kogod School of business at the American University in Washington, DC with a dual degree in Marketing and International Business. Since graduating, Jennifer has worked in International Affairs for the Federal Government for 16 years. Jennifer works with international government partners to discuss shared challenges, identify best practices and develop global standards. Jennifer’s work has provided her with the opportunity to travel all over the world to Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and throughout the Americas. An opportunity that has helped her to grow in so many ways and for which she is immensely grateful. The majority of Jennifer’s career was spent in Washington, DC before moving back to Florida to care for her ailing parents and grandmother in 2016.

Jennifer was referred to The Elder Law Center of Kirson & Fuller in 2017 by several members of the Holy Family Catholic Church community. Jennifer sought counsel from The Elder Law Center of Kirson & Fuller to attend to the affairs of her parents’ estate, to obtain (and maintain) guardianship of her maternal grandmother who suffers from Alzheimer’s, and to assist with securing Medicaid for her grandmother.

It has been a pleasure assisting Jennifer with her elder law needs. To show our appreciation for her trust in us, we will be making a $100 donation to an organization of her choosing, the Alzheimer’s Association.
