ORLANDO, Fla. (October 10, 2013) – People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) will enjoy greater opportunities thanks to Best Buddies Central Florida’s Annual Bet on Friendships fundraising event, on November 16th from 7 to 10:00 p.m. at the Citrus Club, 255 S. Orange Ave in Orlando, FL. The event will be emceed by News 13 Anchor Marla Weech. Guests are invited to play casino games and bid in the silent auction while enjoying complimentary beer and wine and hors d’oeuvres. Feeling Lucky? You can compete in a poker tournament against World Series of Poker star Dewey Tomko and up and coming star poker players Natasha Barbour and Mike Raimon. Grand prize includes a 2 night stay at the Golden Nugget paired with spending money for your trip. The revenue raised from this event will directly benefit program-development for Best Buddies Central Florida.  Tickets prices are $125 for an individual, $200 for a couple and can be purchased online at  Best Buddies introduces socialization opportunities, providing the necessary tools for people with IDD to become more independent and proactive in the community. Best Buddies® is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
