Congratulations Heather Kirson!

January 11, 2022 in News

Congratulations to Heather Kirson, owner & managing partner of The Elder Law Center of Kirson & Fuller on her professional achievement as President of the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys (AFELA); the pre-eminent organization of Florida elder law attorneys providing advocacy, education and action on behalf of seniors and people with disabilities.

The Academy of Florida Elder Attorneys (AFELA) was founded in 1993 as a professional association of attorneys who are dedicated to improving the quality of legal services provided to the elderly.

“If you are looking at this site you are either part of a family that is currently in crisis or one that is trying to plan to avoid crisis. Either way, you have reached a site that can help you.

AFELA (The Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys) is a nonprofit association which assists lawyers, bar organizations and others who work with older clients and their families. Our mission is to foster a community of private-practice, elder-law attorneys through education and outreach. Beyond that, we are a resource for families trying to work their way through the maze of issues associated with Elder Law.

In this website, you will find valuable tools to help you and your family deal with all the complicated and specialized issues confronting the elderly, the disabled and their families. The most important tool you will find is a database of a select group of attorneys who focus their practices on the issues related to Elder Law. We welcome you to use the data base to find an attorney in your part of the state who can help.

We are here for you. It is our sincere hope that by using this site you and your family will be taking the first step to deal with this complex and stressful issue.”
