Basic Eligibility for Nursing Home Medicaid in Florida

Medicaid is a joint federal-state program that provides health insurance coverage to low-income children, seniors and people with disabilities. In addition, it covers care in a nursing home for those who qualify. In the absence of any other public program covering long-term care, Medicaid has become the default nursing home insurance of the middle class. While Congress and the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) set out the main rules under which Medicaid operates, each state runs its own program.

A Special Community Presentation

This workshop is designed for all seniors including veterans and/or their spouses. Veterans benefits will be discussed by Martin J. Zickert, Colonel, USAF (Ret) who has had extensive experience making veterans and their widows aware of some little known veterans benefits. The Medicaid eligibility portion of the workshop will be presented by the Elder Law Center of Kirson and Fuller and is designed to make seniors aware of the eligibility requirements of Medicaid. The workshop is being held Wednesday, March 9th at 10:30 am at the Marks Street Senior Recreation Complex, 99 East Marks St. , Orlando, FL 32803. Reservations are required. There is no admission charge.

The Elder Law Center of Kirson & Fuller has recently opened to serve the Orlando area. Here we devote our professional practice to Elder Law and Trust and Estate Matters.
